Indian Institute of Technology or IIT, the name is good enough to make you feel great about it. Great in the sense of education, placement and lifestyle. But what about the life in IIT hostels?
Well, I have been living in an IIT hostel for more than fifteen days now, so, I get that right to tell you my experience of living here in the hostel room of an IIT. Of course, every IIT might have different kinds of hostel experiences but mine is pretty good.
The location of the entire campus is actually very good, the hostel is situated at a decent distance from the academic area and other important buildings like the mess and sports complex. The girls' and boys' hostels are situated differently but with no curfew timings or any restrictions. The hostel rooms are spacious, ventilated and decently maintained. The basic facilities including the electricity, water supply and internet are well-provided with no complaints. The hostels have an elevator facility as well. Cool no?
The hostel buildings are surrounded by greenery giving the perfect view from the windows. I often see pigeons sneaking through my windows. The best thing about my room is that I get to see sunrise every morning sitting comfortably on my bed. Every day I get to experience the best ever morning walks on beautiful paths surrounded by nature, feeling the cool breeze and chirping of birds. It wouldn't be wrong to say, everything here feels peaceful and therapeutic.
Food, the most important part of hostel life, is also good here. There are three different messes here, all doing their jobs pretty decently. And the other most important part of hostel life, the people here are also good. I mean, they feel good, at least now, lets see, how that changes in the coming days.
Okay so, that's my life, living in an IIT hostel. Could you guess, which IIT I am talking about?
You may share your guesses in the comments.
Thankyou
Stay tuned for the next blog
Till then, keep smiling, spread love!
